Know before you go!
Being an educated voter means fully understanding every aspect of your ballot. Beyond simply knowing the candidates, to be an informed and impactful voter, you must also know the ballot measures featured in each election cycle. Here are the ballot measures that you will see on your ballot this election season.
-
A “yes” vote supports amending the constitution to allow the state legislature to allocate state funding to non-public schools. Those who support the amendment argue that it will provide greater choice for families when choosing a school for their children outside of simply going where they live.
A “no” vote opposes amending the constitution to allow the state legislature to allocate state funding to non-public schools. Those who oppose the amendment argue that it would allow legislators to divert much-needed funds from public schools to private schools that do not have standardized accountability measures. They also argue that, as seen in other states that have attempted programs like voucher programs, have resulted in high fiscal costs for students already enrolled in private schools.

A “yes” vote supports amending the state constitution to require all voters to be U.S. citizens to vote.
A “no” vote opposes amending the state constitution to require all voters to be U.S. citizens to vote. Those who oppose the bill believe that the language in the state and national constitution already addresses the matter.
